The United Nations (UN) is an international organization founded in 1945 after World War II to promote peace, security, and cooperation among countries. It consists of 193 member states and serves as a platform for dialogue, negotiation, and collaboration on global issues such as human rights, humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacekeeping operations. The UN aims to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, and foster cooperation in solving international economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian problems.
