
Political Cartoons of the Civil Rights Movement
Through analyzing the political cartoons created by Maurice Pennington, students will see how Pennington used satire to critique society and push for civil rights in Atlanta.
A group of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) located in Atlanta, Georgia. During the Civil Rights Movement it had six member institutions: Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, Spelman College, Clark College, and the Interdenominational Theological Center.
